Daniel Negreanu started out well at the PCA and is near the top after Day 1A. Negreanu was involved in a controversial hand where he had to call the floor to get a ruling on the situation.

It started on the river when the board was AT2 A 5 and Negreanu's opponent made a bet. Negreanu raised, but his opponent thought he had only called and moved to show his hand. He flashed his cards a little bit before he realised that Negreanu had in fact raised, and then the player tried to make a re-raise. "I saw your hand!" Daniel exclaimed, and finally the floor was called over to decide if the player can make a raise after showing his hand, as Negreanu claims had happened. "You have A5 or A4," he told his opponent, but some of the other players at the table were skeptical.

Finally the ruling was that the player can only call after showing his cards. The player won the pot with a full house (AT), Negreanu lost with a straight (34) but probably saved himself some chips since he didn't have to call a re-raise. Tactics or not?
