PokerStars have placed new restrictions on Chinese players on their site. Under the new rules, not more than one player registered in China is allowed at the same cash game table at any one time.
These restrictions follow similar regulations placed on sit & go tournaments, where the current rules also state that only one Chinese player per game is allowed.
Earlier this year there was a cheating scandal on PokerStars when it was determined that a large collusion ring of Chinese players had operated for a year at the Double or Nothing sit & go's up to the $104 level. The ring had won several thousands of dollars, and PokerStars were forced to pay more than $2 million in compensation for players affected by the cheating.
There have been no suggestions of a similar cheating taking place at the ring games, so probably the new regulations are just a precaution taken by PokerStars.
