The Poker Players Alliance (PPA) will be heading to Washington this week in one more effort to legalize online poker. As part of the "National Poker Week", PPA members have setup approximately 100 meetings with Congress members and their aides.
The plan is to present a petition to President Barack Obama tomorrow, the petition has more than 350,000 signatures at last count. Annie Duke, Greg Raymer, Howard Lederer and Andy Bloch will be participating.
However, this petition is no guarantee that poker will be legal as in the past the US Government has been reluctant to legalize it as they consider online poker a dangerous activity.
Tonight, the PPA will host a charity poker tournament and all proceedings will go to the USO and Walter Reed Army Medical Centre.
