The petition the Poker Players Alliance (PPA) created to regulate and tax online gambling in the United States stands at 300,428 as of today. It specifically asks President Obama to:
1) Exempt poker from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA)
2) License and regulate internet poker in the U.S.
3) Respect the rights of law-abiding Americans who love to play this great game of skill.
The petition is available online for all poker players to sign it, when you go to the site you are required to enter your first name, last name, email address, street address, city, state, zip code and an authentication code.
The document you sign starts saying: I am a voter and a fellow poker player asking for your support of my right to play games of skill like poker on the internet.” Later on the petition will be presented to President Barack Obama.
But still I think that 300,428 signatures is not a proportional amount to the number of poker players around the world. Even if you do not live in the United States sign this petition to support American fellow poker players.
