Pokerscout.com has crafted a report on poker room traffic following Black Friday. According to the findings, Absolute Poker and UB Poker have lost up to two thirds of player traffic in just one week.
A little more than one week after Black Friday, many poker rooms are now beginning to feel the consequences of the U.S. crackdown on online poker, traffic analytics site Pokerscout.com reports.
The site has compared traffic numbers from major online poker rooms from before and after Black Friday, and the findings reveal a clear pattern of U.S. players seeking alternatives from the now indicted "Big Three" - Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars and the two CEREUS rooms Absolute Poker and UB Poker.
According to the compiled numbers, Full Tilt Poker saw an immediate impact on player traffic, which dropped a full 49% in the first weekend after Black Friday.
After just one week, players however started returning to the site, and this meant that the overall damage done to Full Tilt Poker limited itself to a drop in player numbers of 35%.
PokerStars cleared the crisis with even fewer losses, registering an overall decline in player traffic of just 28%.
The two CEREUS rooms, Absolute Poker and UB Poker, in turn, were hit hard by the happenings in the U.S. with players turning their back on the sites in increasing numbers.
All in all, the two rooms according to the report so far lost up to 65% of their player traffic, corresponding to two thirds of all players in just one week.
Meanwhile, other rooms who still accept U.S. players benefited from the shutdown, with the Merge Network coming out the biggest winner so far.
Merge has gained 61% in player traffic since last Friday, and is currently the fastest growing U.S. network, ahead of Bodog Poker, which saw numbers increase by 32%.
The European rooms were predicted to take a large share of the abandoned U.S. players too, but so far this prediction has yet to materialize in real numbers.
According to the report, PartyPoker and 888Poker were the only rooms noticing a real impact, both registering minor surges in player traffic numbers of around 4%.
