In recent months there's been a lot of speculation on Harrah's Entertainment's possible plans to move the WSOP away from its' current home at the Rio Hotel and Casino. Coinflip.com met up with WSOP representative Seth Palansky who says how it's gonna be.

WSOP has been played at the Rio since 2005, though the final table of the 2005 Main Event was played at the old homestead Binion's Horseshoe to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the WSOP. And to answer the rumors, Seth Palansky says the WSOP is going nowhere from Rio.

"Rumors are just that; rumors," Palansky states to Coinflip.com, and denies that Harrah's is planning to move the event to Planet Hollywood or anywhere else.

"WSOP will return to the Rio in 2011 and for several years ahead. We are already hard at work for Series #42 and welcome the poker world to the Rio in May 2011."

There were several new features at the Main Event final table this year, most notable being the livestream (with a 5-minute delay) offered on ESPN3.com. Others included the pyrotechnics used at the opening ceremony, and the theme music and showgirls that accompanied each player to the table.

"This year the players arrived much like fighters in an MMA arena. We come up with these things to make the WSOP Main Event final table an even bigger sporting spectacle," Palansky explained to Coinflip.com.
