The winner of Sunday's record-breaking Sunday Million, Luke "Bdbeatslayer" Vrabel, has given an interview on his victory to the PokerStars Blog. The happy player describes the win as "life-changing".

On Sunday, nearly 60,000 hopeful players gathered to PokerStars for the fifth anniversary Sunday Million with a mouthwatering $5 million guarantee.

The many sign-ups resulted in a $12 million combined prize pool, leaving the eventual winner with $1.6 million, as well as an added Lamborghini Gallardo dream car.

However, once the tournament reached its final table the remaining nine players agreed to make a deal, securing all finalists six-figure paydays and leaving only the Lamborghini up for grabs.

The car and first prize eventually went to Luke "Bdbeatslayer" Vrabel, a pro tournament specialist from the U.S., and the happy winner has now given an interview to the PokerStars Blog about the life-changing tournament.

"I had been struggling a lot lately," Vrabel said, however admitting that he never had any doubts he would play the tournament.

"I knew I was going to play right when they announced it. I always play the milly," he added.

After 15 hours of play on Sunday, that decision turned out to be wise, as he suddenly faced the eight other final tablists for the historic win.

At that point the first prize was set at $1.6 million plus the car, but as a result of the deal, Vrabel only got $671,093 in cash.

The winner, however, has no regrets.

"A lot of people felt since I was the most experienced player I should not make a deal," he said.

"But it was far more important to me to secure myself financially for the future than to try and be a hero and gamble in such a fast structure for millions of dollars."

"It changes my life drastically. This increases my bankroll a lot."

The biggest piece of the prize pool went to "wrzr123", who had the chip lead at the time the deal was struck and negotiated his way to $844,209.

Heads-up, Vrabel went on to face "sheppyshape" in a final confrontation that would last 20 minutes.

The final hand saw both players move all-in as "sheppyshape" was dealt 7d 7h and Vrabel 9d 9s. The board rand out all blanks with 4d Jh 6s Tc Qh, and a jubilant "Bdbeatslayer" could celebrate his win as he entered the exclusive club of Sunday Million winners.
