The Danish Ace Mag is warning their readers that they might lose the money they have on foreign online poker sites unless they withdraw their funds before July 1. Reason? The new gaming law which comes into effect on that date.
Like some other European countries before them, Denmark will implement a license system for online poker starting July 1. The only catch is that foreign sites will have to wait until January 1, 2011 before they are granted a license while the government owned Danske Spil can start operations right away, meaning they will have a handy 6 months period when they can build their customer base without having to worry about competition.
On top of that, the country's tax minister Troels Lund Poulsen says the government will "take measures" to make sure their citizens won't play on sites that don't have an appropriate license. Some experts believe this may mean that Denmark will try to block unlicensed foreign sites from offering their games in Denmark.
This is why Ace Mag warns their readers to take good care of their money because they may not be able to withdraw their funds after July 1 if the site is blocked in Denmark. On the other hand, censuring the internet this way is not easy and it seems more likely that this is just scare tactics by the government. By creating uncertainty they hope to see players flocking to Danske Spil.

I think the chance they will seriously block anything is much less than zero. And I also think our money is quite safe at any (larger) gambling site. Btw - Ace mag is bankrupt and has ceased operation, leaving the subscribers with a long nose
