The American poker site Victory Poker with Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari in front yesterday decided to lock down for American poker players.

In the wake of the recent developments on the U.S. poker scene, Chief Executive Officer for Victory Poker, Dan Fleyshman, yesterday announced his decision of closing down the access for American players on the youth oriented poker site.

"Don't want to mess with the US government, they're angry at the "Big 3" for a reason," the Victory Poker CEO declared on Twitter.

Fleyshman has not yet commented further on the surprising action, but there could be a multitude of reasons for blocking U.S. players from Victory Poker, the biggest one being the fear of a continued prosecution by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thanks to the signing with poker pro Antonio "The Magician" Esfandiari and former playboy playmate model Sarah Jean Underwood, Victory Poker has since its founding in February 2010 had a good grip on the poker market.

The site started out on the Everleaf Network but moved in September that same year to the Cake Poker Network, which manages 67 different poker rooms.

The newly taken decision about not allowing Americans to play on Victory Poker probably won't affect the current success of the poker site, as two thirds of the users are of other origin than American, according to Dan Fleyshman.
