The Finnish pro Ville Wahlbeck sat down in front of the Pokernews.com cameras during the PokerStars EPT Tallinn event to give his tips for aspiring players who want to take on mixed games as part of their repertoire.

Ville Wahlbeck is the WSOP $10k Mixed Game champion in 2009 and made three more final tables that year, all of them in different poker variations: HORSE, 2-7 Draw Lowball, and Seven Card Stud. On this video he gives some tips for players who are inexperienced in mixed games and want to start learning. Here's some main points:

* When starting, concentrate on one poker variation at a time and don't dabble with the next one until you feel you can handle the basics. And of course, don't jump straight into Stud Hi-Lo before learning Stud Hi first.

* When you're ready to move on to the tables, try to spot mistakes that other players make. If you can't see any, it's a sure sign you're starting too high. Wahlbeck admits he made this error himself and it's no surprise what happened: "I got raped," he states.

* When the game is one of your weaker variations, play tight and open up only when the game is some variation that you can handle better.
