Harrah's Entertainment have released the schedule for the next World Series of Poker. The 2010 edition consists of 57 events plus the Ante Up for Africa charity event which has become a permanent fixture at the WSOP. The major changes compared to this year are the inclusion of six $1k NL Hold'em events (compared to just one in 2009) and the $50k Players Championship, an 8-game mixed event which will replace the $50k HORSE. There will also be a $25k NL Hold'em 6-max event.
The 2010 WSOP will kick off May 28th and run until July 17th. The Main Event starts July 5th, and the 9 finalists will return in November to decide the world champion.
The $1,000 events, designed to bring in the masses, will be played during the weekends except for the last one which is in schedule July 1st to 2nd (Thursday to Friday).
The $50k Players Championship will kick start the WSOP on May 28th. It's a 5-day mixed event consisting of the five HORSE disciplines (Limit Hold'em, Omaha-8, Razz, Stud, Stud-8) plus Deuce to Seven Triple Draw, NL Hold'em and PLO. The winner of this event will receive the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.
There will be a $10k World Championship Event in HORSE as well as in eight other poker variations: Stud, Stud-8, NL 2-7 Draw, Omaha-8, Limit Hold'em, HU NL Hold'em (256 players cap), PL Hold'em, and PLO.
The $25k NL Hold'em 6-max will definitely be one of the highlights of the tournament calendar in 2010. It's a 4-day event from June 30th to July 3rd.
