Ukrainian born poker pro Yevgeniy "Jovial Gent" Timoshenko became the winner of the biggest prize in online poker taking down the PokerStars WCOOP Main Event for a whopping $1.715 million.
Timoshenko started the final table second in chips behind Daniel "djk123" Kelly, who was amazingly chasing his third win in this WCOOP series. The two clashed big time when there were 4 players remaining, all the money going in preflop and Timoshenko turning over KK to Kelly's TT. The bigger pair held, and Kelly hit the rail leaving Timoshenko in a crushing chip lead.
In the end Timoshenko met "Udon Wannit" heads up for the title starting in a 3.5:1 chip lead. It didn't take long before the decisive hand came: Udon Wannit raised preflop, Jovial Gent called. Flop K86 rainbow, Jovial Gent checked, Udon Wannit bet 240k, Jovial Gent check-raised to 720k, Udon Wannit pushed all-in for 5,828k, Jovial Gent made the call and showed K8s for two pair. Udon Wannit was in trouble with 65s and no help came.
1st place: Jovial Gent ($1,715,200.00)
2nd place: Udon Wannit ($1,286,400.00)
3rd place: reddeevil ($933,712.00)
