Who is David Williams?

David Williams was born in Texas. He is an incredibly smart guy, scored 1550 in his SATs and started university when he was only 16 at the Texas Academy of Mathematics. Afterwards he studied at Princeton University but after a couple of years at Princeton he went back to Southern Methodist University in his home town where he got a 4.0 GPA and almost a degree in Economics. He may be all preppy styled now but he used to be kind of geeky before he started wearing stylish clothes and taking care of his looks.

Before starting his poker career he was an avid Magic: The Gathering player. He was mentored by "The Flying Dutchman", Marcel Lüske but it was not until 2004 and a second-place finish to Greg Raymer in the WSOP Main Event that David earned a reputation on the circuit. He says he prefers live poker to online gaming.

As a poker player he is working to build his career because he is still a fresh face on the circuit but he already won his first WSOP bracelet in 2006 and says he cannot wait for the next one. However, he still wishes to go back to finish his degree in Economics and to invest his earnings into his own business.

Public Perception and Reputation

David is a charismatic and friendly player at the tables. He is considered very smart due to his academic record and of course no one is better than him at telling the odds. He was taken more seriously after he proved his second-place finish at the 2004 WSOP was not just luck by winning a bracelet at the 2006 WSOP.

David made some waves when, in 2006, it came up that he had participated in a porn film. There was no denial from him and in a couple of months it was already old news.
