Who is Joe Hachem?
The World Series of Poker champion and a World Poker Tour title winner, Joe Hachem, was born in Lebanon. Later on he moved to Australia with his family and he has lived "down under" ever since. He is married to Jeanie, his high-school sweetheart and has 4 children with her. His first profession was chiropractor, which he did for 13 years, but this champion did not know that his life would take a turn into poker. He developed a rare blood vessel disorder that made it difficult for him to use his hands, and he had to give up his career as a chiropractor. It was then that he started playing some live events as well as online poker.
He was unknown on the circuit until his win at the 2005 WSOP Main Event. He made Australians go crazy with his win and the popularity of the game boomed in his home country. He was the first Australian to get a WSOP bracelet and cashed $7.5 mill. He is also one of four players to be WSOP and WPT champions.
However, poker is not everything in his life. Logically, by being from Lebanese origins, his family is his first priority in life. With his winnings he said he was happy that he can take care of his family, help out his parents and take his wife Jeanie and four children with him to all the poker tournaments he plays in. He also likes golf, good meals at good restaurants, cigars and spending time with his kids.
Public Perception and Reputation
Joe Hachem is perceived as a family man as he has used his winnings on giving his family a better lifestyle, ignoring the glamorous poker lifestyles other players like.
In his beginnings as a poker pro he used to be quite aggressive at the tables, but he says that since he learnt how to control his temper his game and relationships have improved a lot.

He likes risky bets and is willing to go all in leaving his fate to the deck. He relies on intuition and often makes the right choices, other times he misses completely.
